'60s absurdity in TV and movies. What were them really?

It is said that shows like Man Fron U.N.C.L.E, Wild WIld West, The Avengers, BAtman... were absurdist TV series. Indeed there seems to be something odd in them as for situations and the way they are solved. But can we consider them in the line of Bond movies, and even more, in the line of more intellectual movie trends like Free Cinema or Nouvelle Vague in which there seems to be not apprehensible elements too? I mean, is it all this stuff coming from a zeitgeist of the moment as a way to play or to express the incertitude as for technology, politics and future in general?
