Ford Focus TDDI 1998 Starting trouble?

doubt its the solenoid ( on the starter motor) as this normally goes defective and stays that way. so leaves relay (in fuse box) or ignition switch itself. most likely candidate is ignition switch but relay is cheapest way to check first. a dealer can trace the fault but they do charge a fair whack.
